Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is governed by the Advisory Board of Massage Therapists, created in the Department of Health & Human Services and is now under the auspices of the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification in the Division of Health Professions.

The State of New Hampshire requires the following to obtain a Massage Therapy License:

  1. Successful completion of a minimum 750 hours approved massage therapy program
  2. Successful completion of a national licensing exam (MBLEx, NCBTMB, or other approved national exam)
  3. Maintain current CPR & First Aid certifications

All licenses issued on or after February 15, 2023 will expire two years from the date of issuance, on the last day of the month in the month the license was issued.

The expiration date of all licenses issued before this date will not change.

Upon renewal, all renewed licenses will receive an expiration date that is two years from the date of renewal, on the last day of the month in the month the license was renewed.

Continuing Education Information

Renewal of the Massage Therapist license requires the completion of 12 CE each two-year licensing period.

The State of New Hampshire* accepts courses for continuing education hours from providers in the CE Registry. The State of New Hampshire also accepts courses for continuing education hours from providers approved by the NCBTMB.

Dexterity PD is a proud Approved Provider with the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). Our courses are available and listed in the CE Registry. Course completion records are stored in the national Massage Therapy Licensing Database (MTLD) for permanent recording.
