Membership in a professional association requires massage therapists to meet certain requirements.
Many Massage Therapists in Minnesota belong to professional associations, such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), which requires successful completion of a minimum 500 hours massage therapy program.
Certification through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) requires the completion of 750 hours of education and a minimum of 250 hours of hands-on practice as a massage professional.
