Sharona Abramovitch, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, boasts over a decade of experience delivering nutrition counseling and educational services.
Her extensive career spans diverse healthcare settings, including primary care, private practice, geriatrics care, and a rehabilitation hospital. Within primary care, she actively engages with a diverse population, offering individual counseling and facilitating group programs such as ‘Heart Health,’ ‘Mindful Eating,’ ‘Taste and Learn,’ and ‘Eating on a Budget.’Â Sharona provides services through the Scarborough Academic Family Health Team (SAFHT), a group of health care providers that work together to care for thousands of patients, both online and in person.
Specializing in mindful eating, diabetes, and weight management, Sharona holds an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition and Kinesiology, along with Master’s degrees in Kinesiology and Nutrition.
Notably, she authored a paper titled ‘Underestimating Serving Sizes’ based on Canada’s Food Guide (2012), sharing insights on platforms such as The Morning Show and at various conferences. Additionally, she has contributed to a cookbook focused on Brain Health and Nutrition, providing nutrition analysis and labels for diverse projects.
