Our Team

Julie, a co-founder and key leader at Dexterity PD, boasts a rich and varied educational background.

Her academic journey commenced with an Honors BA in History from Huron University College at Western University in London, Ontario. Graduating with honors in 2009, she earned recognition with the Godsoe Scholarship Award for Academic Achievement. During this time, Julie also served as a teaching assistant and led the on-campus V-Day Organization, which is dedicated to ending violence against women. Julie next pursued an MA in History at the University of Toronto. Her interdisciplinary thesis, developed with the Faculty of Law, delved into Canada’s evolution of hate speech legislation.

Furthering her education, Julie enrolled in the joint Juris Doctor/Master of Public Administration program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. During this time, she contributed as a research assistant on the Ontario Court of Appeal History Project and expanded her studies in International Law, earning a Global Law Scholarship for Excellence. After law school, Julie articled at the Crown Law Office – Criminal, where she researched criminal and constitutional law matters, crafted policy positions, and offered litigation support. She collaborated closely with disability rights activist David Lepofsky, attended the Supreme Court of Canada, and continued to volunteer as a Research Assistant with the AODA Alliance for several years. Julie was called to the Ontario Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor by the Law Society of Upper Canada in June 2015.

Transitioning into various roles, Julie worked on a healthcare procurement strategy project as a Senior Process Improvement Consultant with the Ontario Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. Her legal expertise found a niche in short-term contract positions in law and health-related fields.

In 2016, Julie assumed the role of In-House Counsel at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy (CCMH), contributing significantly to policy development and updates in alignment with industry standards. She played a pivotal role in establishing Dexterity PD in 2018 during this period. Julie eventually transitioned to a full-time position with Dexterity PD, where she now directs operations and development, leaving behind her role as a practicing lawyer.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Julie is the proud mother of two incredible daughters.
