Amanda is a valued member of the Course Development Team at Dexterity PD with extensive training and experience in editing, writing, and massage therapy.

In her role with Dexterity PD as a Content Editor & Writer, she utilizes her expertise to contribute to the creation of high-quality educational content. Her involvement with Dexterity PD underscores her dedication to advancing massage therapy education and ensuring practitioners receive the best training.

Amanda obtained a BA in English Literature (2010) and an MA in Public Texts (2011) from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, during which she maintained a position on the Dean’s Honour Roll. As a Master’s student, Amanda worked as a Teaching Assistant for Medieval and Renaissance Literature, during which she was nominated by her students for the Excellence in Teaching Assistance Award. Amanda next completed a Certificate in Creative Book Publishing at Humber College, where she specialized in editorial, marketing, and advanced technology. Amanda also won the Excellence in Book Publishing award for best publishing house.

While working as a freelance editorial professional, Amanda embarked on her next academic pursuit – becoming a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Amanda pursued her massage therapy education at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy (CCMH), where she not only graduated with honors (summa cum laude) and was the recipient of the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, but also had the honor of delivering the Valedictorian’s Address at her 2017 convocation. Transitioning into the professional realm, Amanda became a practicing RMT, channeling her passion for massage therapy into hands-on care.

In addition to her clinical practice, Amanda became a highly skilled instructor at CCMH, where she taught for several years and contributed significantly to the education of aspiring massage therapists. Amanda taught various courses in the massage therapy curriculum and also served as a clinical instructor. As a supervisor of clinical outreaches, Amanda played an instrumental role in shaping the practical experiences of students. Amanda’s many contributions highlight her as a valued professional in the massage therapy community.

Amanda is also the proud mother of two amazing daughters and is currently on maternity leave.
