Prince Edward Island is one of the jurisdictions where massage therapy is a regulated healthcare profession and is governed by the College of Massage Therapists of Prince Edward Island (CMTPEI).
Massage Therapy is governed by the College of Massage Therapists of Prince Edward Island. To become an RMT in PEI, the following are required:
Successful completion of an approved 2200-hour Massage Therapy diploma or degree program.
Successful completion of a competency in a regulated Canadian province (i.e. OSCE & MCQ in New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Ontario, British Columbia).
Successful completion of the PEI Jurisprudence Examination.
CEC is a mandatory component of the annual renewal of registration.
The CMTPEI has moved to a Continuing Education and Competency program (CEC), which is a quality assurance program focused on annual self-assessment and the establishment of personal learning goals.

The CMTPEI no longer provides preapprovals for continuing education courses under this model. Dexterity PD courses may be appropriate for assisting you in achieving your learning goals under the CEC program.
