Newfoundland and Labrador is one of the five provinces in which massage therapy is a regulated healthcare profession. The College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL) is the regulatory college.

Massage Therapy is regulated by College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL).

To become a Registered Massage Therapist, an individual must successfully complete a minimum 2200-hour program from an approved College.

Candidates must also successfully complete the CNTNL registration exams:

The multiple choice (MCQ) exam and;

The practical, hands-on Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Candidates must provide proof of professional liability insurance and submit to a criminal record and vulnerable sector check

Massage Therapy membership is allotted for a three-year term and the cycle is the same for all members of the CMNTL.

The current credit cycle is for the period: April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027. CEU’s are due on January 31st, 2027.
