Massage Therapy is governed by the State of Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy.
The State of Kentucky* requires the following to obtain a Massage Therapy License:
- Successful completion of a minimum 600-hour approved Massage Therapy program.
- Successful completion of a national licensing exam (i.e. NCBTMB, MBLEx, NCAA, NBCA, Ohio Massage Therapy Licensing Exam, State of New York Massage Therapy Licensing Exam).
- Submit a recent two inch by two inch or larger passport quality color head shot photograph
- Finger print, criminal background check.Â
- A certificate of good standing is required to be renewed annually.
*Two (2) year license renewal period, expires on the anniversary date of issue.
The Massage Therapist License requires the completion of 12 CE hours per two years for renewal. Of the 12 CE hours, three (3) CE hours must be in ethics.
The State of Kentucky* accepts courses for continuing education hours from providers in the CE Registry. The State of Kentucky also accepts courses for continuing education hours from providers approved by the NCBTMB.
Dexterity PD is a proud Approved Provider with the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). Our courses are available and listed in the CE Registry. Course completion records are stored in the national Massage Therapy Licensing Database (MTLD) for permanent recording.
